The Wood's Road

Got some studio time today.
I added the next layer to my newest quilt.
Taking a photograph shows me where I need corrections.
Lots of corrections.
Glad to be back creating.
Have a good week-end.

Start of The Woods Road art quilt.

Yesterday was busy.
I laid out the background and
started quilting the sky.
My new art quilt will be a road
disappearing into the woods.
Lots of trees and leaves.
I made another 6 quarts of tomato juice.
This is the last of the melons from the garden.
                                   We will savor this one.
Next week on to the watermelons.

I am glad to be back in the studio again.
The pantry will be full for the winter.
I will be happy as a clam in the studio.
Watching the snow blow past the windows.
I am probably the only person who likes winter.
Enjoy your day.

Bark.

I love trees.
especially bark.
I can see a quilt in here can you?
                                   The different textures are fascinating.
The play of dark and lights,
Ready to start on the tree art quilt this morning
I have the trees cut out
                                   and the background ready.
I want to make this a fall scene.
I will cut scrapes of leaves
let them drop than free motion over them,
Have a wonderful day. I know I will.

Weathered Wood

I just love the look of old wood.
The original homestead is west of our garden.
Lots of great weathered old wood.
Bill picked 15 melons out of his garden today.
I went around the neighborhood to share the bounty.
I think we have harvested at least 50 melons so far.
Cantaloupe will finish this week
Than the watermelons will start.
They should last through mid September.
That will leave the potatoes to dig in October.
Summer is going too too fast.
But our pantry will be full of goodness.
I finally went to the studio and started
a new art quilt of a road bordered with oak trees.
Felt good to touch the fabric again.

A needed day of rest.

A quiet stroll around the pond
and some nice photos for future quilts.
Such a peaceful way to spend the morning.

Found this little fellow in the grass
He thought if he stood still I would go away.
A needed rest full day after a Saturday of
canning a bushel of tomato's into
17 quarts of juice and  doing another
5 meals of corn, going to an  auction
way too much for one day.
