Winter or Spring?

My daffodils are up 4 inches.
They think it is spring.
Next the Robins will be back.
Maybe we are going to skip winter this year,
I got the furnace room cleaned.
7  large black garbage bags of junk
boxes and etc.
Now I can go to the studio without feeling guilty.
Got my work done.

Saturday's delight. The Robins journey.

Every year the Robins spend a week here at the Ridge.
They dine on the berries from the big Cedar tree.
Drink and bathe in the Koi pond by the house.
What a nice way to start the day.
Love my birds.

Vistors from the sky.

18 geese showed up this morning on the pond.
They strutted around the yard nibbling grass.

This afternoon I went down to the studio
to play with some fabric and looked out the window.
Must have gotten hot out there.
Some of them found a shade tree to rest under.

The garden has gotten in the way of my creating
I will be glad when we are finished so I can
go back to hanging out in the studio again.

River art quilt progress.

Yesterday I spent the whole day working
on my Hoosier River Quilt.
This is the base  I started with.
I added stitching and some paint.
I printed yesterdays birds on silk
and applied them with heat n bond.
The ducks add a nice touch.

This painting is  my inspiration for the quilt.
Today I will add the next layer.
           Hand embroidery with thick threads.
I have until Saturday night to finished my entries.

Back after a busy week.

What has been keeping me busy for the past 3 months.
Last nights opening.
happily lots of red dots.
To fund another few months in art experimentation.
A view of the gallery as you enter the show.
One of my art quilts , the Kankakee River Marsh painting
and a few sunsets taken at Cedar Ridge .
 More small art quilts.
This grouping of fall features paintings
small art quilts and a art quilt of a painting.
The pond as depicted in a art quilt painting.
The Kankakee River Marsh on a Jasper red gesso background.
Note the glow of red through the water.
Check out Caroline Jasper on line.
A great artist.
Jasper red gesso is named after her.
A small grouping of winter.
Art quilt, watercolor, acrylic painting and small quilted dreamscapes
My sculptures of Adam and Eve.
I rolled a slab then went outside for a Canadian Hemlock branch.
I love how the branch wraps around Eve at the waist.
No one would ever know I love the woods, trees, water and birds.

Collage for a day

Spent Wednesday with the paper scraps.
Today I will paint in the morning.
Clean the last of the flower beds this afternoon.
Then it will rain for another week.
What a spring.

Can you tell I like trees, birds and the outdoors.
I really like the last one with the yellows.
Must remind me of the sun we don't get to see much of.

The family goes to town.

Last winter we went to West Lafayette to do the gallery walk in January.
It was 10 degrees but sunny  and no wind.
In the old downtown there is this sculpture by
Linda Van Kolk.
It is fascinating to look close to see all the parts.

What you can do with a welder
and lots of old machinery parts from the farm.

Can Spring be far behind.

The Robins must have heard me complain yesterday.
They showed up to eat the berries off of the cedar tree.
The bluebirds are back.
The skunks are out of hibernation.
Soon it will be spring.
