Minnesota fishing

Some photos of my family's favorite pastime.
Grand kids Andy and Liz our daughter's children.
Brent chilling after a morning of fishing
 Hunter and a big one.
Mom Starla and Brent with big walleyes.
Daughter Kathy with her kids after a good lunch
at the Shoreline Café.
Battle Lake Minnesota is our favorite place to fish.
I started going there 62 years ago and our family
still goes there.
Great fishing, great weather and great family times.

Did I hear you say you wanted to go fishing again?

My husband had the guts to ask if I did my vestibular
exercises continually did I think I could go back to
Minnesota for him to go fishing again.
I told him to find another man to go with him.
I am home to stay until I go to Grand Rapids
for the AQS show. My quilt Wolf River is accepted
into the show and I signed up for an all day class.
My studio need to see some action from me.
It is time to sort through the photographs I
took and pick some out to turn into art Quilts.
While I was in Minnesota I did a watercolor
mock up of the 12 foot by 6 foot installation
I will do for my October show in 2014.
Monday I will photograph some of this for you.
Well have a nice quiet Sunday and relax I intend to.

The Canoe wins

Well the 2 in the canoe beat the 3 in the boat.
Hunter is proud of his bass and the cooler full
of crappie, sun fish and bass.

But in the evening Mom and Brent caught
24 inch walleyes. I would say they are having a
great time here. This morning it is raining
They and the fish need a rest.
The returning hero's.
What memories for the boys when they look
back on the summer of 2013.
It looks like our plan of giving our kids another
trip to Battle Lake before we are gone was
a good idea. The red heads have 2 more days
than the last bunch comes up to Minnesota.
Time to forge some more memories.

Red Head Mania

The red heads went fishing twice in the boat today.
Had a campfire supper of pudgy pies and hot dogs
and now they are bull heading at the bridge
with 20 million mosquito's.  Grandpas in bed and
I will be follow soon. Wow do they have energy.

In the morning Grandpa will take 2 of them crappie
fishing and John and Hunter will take the canoe
and go sun fish fishing.

Phelps Mill

We went to visit Phelps Mill yesterday.
That is my husband fishing.
Fishing has been bad too cold yet,
My son-in-law is fishing by Detroit Michigan
and said the same thing.
I keep taking photographs to use in reference
for future art quilts. The scenes are nice.
Sunday our oldest son will arrive with his kids
so it will get busier. Having a quiet time in MN.

Cold in Minnesota

I was thinking of these photos from last winter
today. It was only 50 degrees where I am.
I looked out at the lake and thought it was snowing.
Really windy but it gave us a day to unpack
and look over the town I had not been here
for 20 plus years. It has not changed at all.
I finally figured out how to us the hot spot on
my phone to get online on the computer.
Sunday is supposed to be bright and sunny.
Maybe I can get some nice photos.
It is a beautiful sot to stay only 5 houses on this
road and lots of trees. There is a robin sitting
on a nest in a tree next to the house.
I will try and get some photos Sunday.
Night all .
