Sunday morning.

Yesterday was a beautiful day.
Cool, sunny and blue skies like fall.
Wish they all could be like that.
Spent the afternoon at the hospital.
Keeping my mother company.
She is 93 years old.
I will be going back in a couple of hours.
CNF is not fun to watch but they are keeping her comfortable.
The hospital used to have the best recliners
but they got new furniture.
Modern sleek but at least well padded.
My daughter was working again yesterday.
Nice to see a friendly face well waiting.
Monday my grandson Brad moves back to College.
This time he will stay there permanently.
His father is dreading this.
I told my son at 20 years of age it is time.
We are supposed to train them to leave.
He will come and help us one more time
Monday. I will miss his strong back.
It was fun cooking him good lunches.
Homemade pizza, chili cheese dogs, watermelon,
and bing cherries  were his favorites.
This summer he has trimmed all the shrubs and trees.
Pulled a few that were not supposed to come out.
But hey I cannot do it anymore so whatever.
Except for the 4 volunteer oak leaf hydrangeas I
had promised to a friend. Oops.
I will find something else to give her.
There is plenty to share.

Cool bath on a hot day.

What a hot day yesterday.
We sat down for lunch and looked out the window
we saw several sparrows taking a bath in the Koi pond.
What a refreshing idea.
Started picking out fabrics for my next art quilt
and could not find anything I liked for the back.
Got out the dyes and made 4  new over dyes,
in greens and blues.
Perfect for a water scene.
Now to get started.
Yesterday I added 805 to the backs of 7 yards of fabric.
I am ready to go this morning.
Love making water and tree scenes.
Have a great day everyone.

On Golden Pond.

Morning at Cedar Ridge brings the wood ducks to the pond.
The feeders are full of birds.
Lots of activity as they build nests.
I live in paradise here on the hill.
The rain last night washed away the heat.
A clear cool morning.
I can just smell the North Woods air.
Reminds me of fishing in Minnesota.

I am ready for a new week.
Today I will work on adding surface design to
some fabrics for QSDS.  I am looking
forward to meeting some new artists and
learning new techniques.
I have Pat and Anita coming with me.
It will be nice to share the driving.
Well have a great day
I am off to the studio.

The Sparrows of the field.

I just love sparrows even though they  empty out  the feeder.
They are such social birds.
Perky.
I have to repeat something my grand daughter posted today.
She is an art major.
She is student teaching now and a student came up to
her during the fire drill and said.
You know what you are teacher.
What?
A flower bright and colorful and always happy.
What a pleasant thought.
How nice to be compared to a flower.[
