Barns

 

 I like old barns. When I see one I try to get a photo.

Most of them disappear forever.

So I keep my record of barns.

 This one is wrapped on one side to store hay.

 This one was torn down the end of the summer.

This one is still being used.

Time to travel the roads and look for some more barns.

I have a spare hour between appointments today

I will take my camera with and find some more outbuildings

to save.

Old Barns

 I love old barns.

I stop and take photos whenever I can.

These relics are fast disappearing.

 I was glad I took time to photograph this one.

The next spring the farmer took it down.

Now it is preserved forever on my computer.

It may be time to make this into a quilt.

Another was to keep it.

Roads I have traveled.

 I love winding roads through the woods.

I grew up playing along the winding woods road.

I noticed that the leaves are changing already.

Fall is here.

Yesterday my husband and I put up 2 bushels of apples.

The smell of fresh apples cooking in the house on

a cold windy fall day is luscious.

I also made up a dutch apple pie to eat with supper.

Yum the house smelled good.

We are ready for winter except for digging potatoes.

That is my husbands job.

Ever wonder why we do all of this.

Good clean food without chemicals.

The only ingredient is food.

No salt no sugar just plain food.

But I am sure glad to be done.

We are glad to share whats left in the garden

 with friends. Our larder is full.

Thankfull the week is over.

 I love barns and old buildings.

The week was busy with getting the outside back in shape

cleaning out two storage areas in the basement.

Making my supplies more accessible

and hanging a new show in the local library.

 The geese are headed back north.

the birds are busy building nest.

Everyone is  a week early.

I love seeing green all over again.

Even though we did not have much of a winter.

It was brown. yuck.

Looking forward to a quiet week-end.

Than Monday I will be making some quilt cards for

LaLa's in Lafayette.
