So true my friends, 

Finally I am getting back to you.

Seems like all my time was spent on the bike,

climbing stairs ( up and down) and stretching.

Nothing has been done in the studio.

Hopefully this week it changes, 

Love my pine trees 

especially with drops of rain on them.

Fall at Cedar Ridge

Fall is my favorite time of the year.

What was planned as a 8 day vacation in Michigan

turned into 4 days. DH back cannot take long trips

anymore.  One day there, 2 days to recoup enough.

One uncomfortable day back home. 

New restrictions.

Stay in Indiana. Find fishing lakes here.

Now we know our limitations.

Indiana is a great place and we have everything

we need here to enjoy life.

Expensive lesson.

I am still on vacation I will not cook or do anything

Until Monday. After all I haven't had a vacation

  for 4 years. 

Looking forward to green.

 I thought I saw hint of green in the grass yesterday.

The  daffodils are up about 4 inches.

The crocus are blooming.

Spring is on its way.

 My husband is building a big green house for the

2016 garden season to grow tomatoes longer.

Soon it will be asparagus season.

So much to look forward to.

Today Owen our great grandson will spend the afternoon

with us and I plan to be outside most of the time.

He will be happy. We will find shovels, buckets and

all the sand toys little boys like.

Than a clean up in the big whirlpool tub.

Hopefully next week back in the studio.

I am finally feeling energetic.

Cedar Ridge

 As you can see I don't have to leave home to get

inspired.  Trees everywhere.

Plenty of  privacy.

Wide open spaces.

 We bought this hillside building site because of

the mature pine trees and oak trees.

25 acres of perfection.

Until its is time to do fall and spring clean up

Which is where we are now.

We do the simplest thing bet out the weed whacker.

Chop it all down and let the pine needles fall.

Today I am going to plan out the next 2 months projects.

I need 2 pieces for the Niches show in November,

Several small in Primary colors for January.

One piece for a show in the North east.

I had better get off this computer and get busy.

Junco in the pines

 Saturday I made this bird quilt.

The back ground square is 15 x 15.

I spent about 5 hours creating this one.

The pine boughs turned out really nice.

This is number 6 so I have 29 to go.

Wonder how many I can make this week.

I need to go north to the UP store to send

my quilts for the International Quilt Show in Rosemont.

So I will have a few hours less this week.

The Sunshine effect

 Until the sun came out yesterday I did not know

how much ice we had. It coated the pine trees and

it sparkled yesterday. Over 50 inches of snow

in our area so far for winter.

Today was grocery day and massage day.

I did get an hour in the studio.

Ironed on some more trees and stones.

I will start stitching, painting and cleaning up

Tomorrow. Lots to do.

Winter on the hill

We were gone overnight for another concert.

We both agreed that it is better to have more

time between events. We did not enjoy this

one. Both of us  agreed that a 3.5 hour trip one

way is too long a ride just for a concert.

I remember saying this the last time we

went there. Need to post a big note to remind me.

NO MORE CONCERTS IN ANDERSON.

 

 I usually see lots of cardinals but not this year.

So I have to content myself with looking at

some of my cardinal art. We are supposed to

get another big snow. :(  11 days until Christmas.

Time to finish all the little details.

You may not hear form me as regular until after

the holidays just too much going on.

Saturday I will take all my boxes to the UP

pick up and than get my Christmas cards

addressed and out. :) glad we only do this

once a year.

Planted some more pine trees.

I added in some smaller pine trees. Looks better,

now I just need to put the back, sleeves and borders

on 4 quilts and I will stop sewing for awhile.

I have been quilting for 3 months solid and need

a break. I will drag out the clay and the rolling

pin and make some fish and pots.

Yesterday we had a nice lunch with Minnesota

fried fish and the fixings. I love a carry in we

get to sample lots of good stuff.

My daughter volunteered to do Mothers Day

I think she notice I was having issues with

my knees. I am willing to take a break.

This is the week we bring the art for Art Mix.

I have about 20 small pieces for this show.

Whatever is left will go to Ohio Craft Museum

to be sold. I find I am finally having trouble

keeping up with the demand. 

Pine Field.

 I had a productive day in the studio today.

Another landscape quilt for our show in May.

This is what the studio looks like after a busy day.

Laura Wasolowski asked how often do you clean

your studio. As you can see not often enough.

I feel maybe straightening up every other week or

after a big project is enough. That means my studio

will not be cleaned until May 5th.

Well we are supposed to get the bulls eye of the

new storm so I should be snowed in for a

couple of days. Plenty of time to create.



Cold and Sunny

It is cold and sunny here in NW Indiana.

We could use lots of snow.

Our ground water table is way down.

I am actually worried that the fish in the big pond

will freeze solid this winter.

Should have ate them last summer.

I have 3 whole days in a row to spend in the

studio. I need to get a group of 3 small art quilts

done and mailed to the Ohio Craft Museum.

They need to be there by next Wednesday.

So I had better get busy.
