Liquid sunshine

Its January and time to drink some of the fruits of
our labors from the summer.
This is when we really enjoy our juice
We are currently searching the seed catalogues
looking for the seeds we want for this summers
garden.  Now is the time to order.
Have a great day and I will put some juice in
the frig. to enjoy later today.

Tomatoes and jam.

I spent the day in the kitchen.
7 jars of juice,
only 43 to go.
2 batches of strawberry peach jam with stevia .
Sugar free and salt free food for the winter.
I love that tomato red.
such a bright color.
Home made roast beef hash for supper.
Made with home grown potatoes.
Yum.
Must dye some fabric in red and lime green.
I have another show opening Sunday.
I will bring a big bowl of cherry tomatoes.
Yellow, red and those black red ones above.
All are really sweet.
My art quilt would have been a winner if I hadn't
put the deer in it. Too cuties I guess.
I will take photos to show you.
Have a great week-end.

Start of The Woods Road art quilt.

Yesterday was busy.
I laid out the background and
started quilting the sky.
My new art quilt will be a road
disappearing into the woods.
Lots of trees and leaves.
I made another 6 quarts of tomato juice.
This is the last of the melons from the garden.
                                   We will savor this one.
Next week on to the watermelons.

I am glad to be back in the studio again.
The pantry will be full for the winter.
I will be happy as a clam in the studio.
Watching the snow blow past the windows.
I am probably the only person who likes winter.
Enjoy your day.

A needed day of rest.

A quiet stroll around the pond
and some nice photos for future quilts.
Such a peaceful way to spend the morning.

Found this little fellow in the grass
He thought if he stood still I would go away.
A needed rest full day after a Saturday of
canning a bushel of tomato's into
17 quarts of juice and  doing another
5 meals of corn, going to an  auction
way too much for one day.

Homemade low sodium Tomato Juice.

It take this to get 5 quarts of juice.
Plus a morning of work.
A nap after lunch and no studio time.
In the middle of winter it all seems worth it.
Just not right now.
Only 45 more to go.
That equals 8 days of no studio.
Keep telling self it is going to be good.
Must remember that August is harvest
and not complain.
The weather is simply great now
Something to be thankful for.
Thankful my DH helps with the juice.
Plus the house smells great with
a batch of green pepper soup simmering away.
