New project

I saw this flannel quilt by David at Crimson Tate
in Indy. Called David at the shop and ordered it
and some additional yardage.

The back is fun also.
I may make this one for me.
Or my grandson who is building himself
a house. Yes with his hands with a few friends.
I got a brown sofa I want to wrap with quilts.

Than I saw this shawl and thought .
I could crochet this onto a piece of wool
flannel or acrylic.
I have been thinking of stopping my blog.
What ya think.
Will face book be enough or Instragram?

Next project for FibR show in May.

Well this is next in line.
I need 2 or 3 art quilts for the FibR show in May.
I have 3 groups of fabrics to work with.
I plan to make some necklaces too.
This one is a must we all have a piece of the
same fabric to incorporate into a quilt.
Our theme is international.
I am adding animals to this one.
The lighter fabrics are Australian and have fish
and turtles as part of the design.
This is as far as I got this afternoon.
I do not like this so I will start over in the morning.
I really have trouble with a theme like this.
I do better starting with a photo or a piece
of fabric and than I get inspired.
Tell me I need to do something and my mind
balks. Everyone so far have such unique items.
I will have to dig deep inside to pull this off.

The FInal Project

I thought I would show you my final project
from my week long Nancy Crow workshop.
It is just pinned to the wall.
The work load of this workshop was intense.
I  got it cut out and pinned to my wall
but had no time to sew it.
So it came home with me to be finished
when I go back to the studio after Christmas.
I was so tired I slept 9 hours last night.
Plus took a nap after lunch.
I was really impressed by the work of my
fellow students.
Some very talented art quilters.
I have come to the realization that a 5 day
workshop is too much for me with my
health issues. In the future I will limit myself to
1 to 3 day workshop.
I did have trouble driving myself home
I had to stop every 20 to 30 minutes to
keep awake. BUT the important thing is
I did make it there and back
and survived the week with Nancy.
That woman has the energy of 3 women.
I learned a lot of  craft that will make
me a better art quilter in the long run.
I look forward to January through
the 1st of May when I get the most done in the studio.

The begining of a new quilt.

I love the colors of my new project.
As always nature themed.
It was good to be back in the studio.
I think I was absent for 3 weeks.
Wednesday I will have a whole day in the studio again.
Other duties call me today.
I even got another 4 quarts of juice done yesterday.
While I am off and running.
Have A good one.
