Pie Crust Cookies for Dessert.

Saturday morning and time to make dessert.
Tonight our family gets together for the last 3 months
Birthdays.
The recipe is simple.
Sugar, cinnamon, 6 tablespoons butter
and 2 rolls of pre made pie crust.
Set Convection oven to 350 degrees.
Spread half the butter on the bottom crust.
with a spoon back. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
Top with second crust and repeat.
Fold sides in. This will make cookies uniform.
Roll up the pie crust as compact as possible.
Slice into 14 to 16 cookies.
About 3/8 inch thick.
Press down with heel of you hand.
This compacts them so they don't fall apart.
Bake in oven for 20 to 25 minutes until
light brown and done. Nothing is
worse than doughy pie crust.
I sometimes flip them over for the last 5 minutes.
Cool on racks.
The house will smell wonderful for the day.
Easier than deep cleaning.
I made 4 batches .
Forget birthday cakes.
Try pie crust cookies with
homemade ice sundaes.
Yum
This was a Thanksgiving and Christmas
tradition in our house.
I got up early to make them for the kids.
A great way to start the day.
Now the grand kids  can taste the past.

Roadside Attraction

For the past 3 years I wanted to photograph
this clump of trees.
The only problem it is alongside a busy highway.
Finally my husband to the rescue.
He drove and timed it so I could
get out of the car for 6 quick snaps.
Now to make something interesting of them.
Love the color they are.
Red.
The trunks are interesting too.
Maybe  Tuesday I can finally get in the studio.
I have lost a week to this flu bug.
Smile self  it will end  someday.

Sunday morning at Cedar Ridge Studio.

For the  beef and noodles for Saturdays supper.
We are having a fish fry for the last quarter
of family birthdays.
Home cooking is the best.
Off  tomorrow to get some apples for sauce and pies.
Sunday a day of rest and recovery.
I still am not 100% but I will have to settle
for where I am. Age is such fun.
Smile its a good day.
