Post cards for Houston

 Today I finally got back in the studio.

I made 15 pet post cards for the International

Quilt show. Hope Pokey likes them. All cats.

 This weather is just awesome.

Clear crisp and sunny.

Makes the living a joy.

Love the pines in the early morning.

Dew drips off of everything.

Doing 4 bushels of apples was too much but I

would rather get it over with quickly. Now we

have sauce and pies for another year.

I finally gave in and called for an appointment

for shots to my knees. Bummer he is busy

and I cannot get in until November 5th. I will

have to be very good and not do a lot to

make them worse.

I want to wait until next May to get the

replacement.  I got too many art quilts to do

this winter. Besides art is more fun.

Mini Art Quilts

 Good Morning all.

Saturday's are good days.

I finally took a little time to make something

small. a few 4x6 art quilts for cards.

Been too busy to create.

Soon I will be able to spend 5 days quilting.

Cannot wait.

Today I have a pit fire scheduled by the pond

for the local high school pottery class.

Should be a fun event.

I have saved branches, dried grasses and leaves,

the kids are bringing horse pies and horse hair.

The pies make a pink cast and the hair black lines

on the pottery.

I have some copper carbonate and will borrow

some dog food from the neighbor.

Dog food  has minerals and salts that provide

 another layer of color.

We burn today cover the fire and pots with sand

 and than dig up either Sunday or Monday.

Mellowing out at the farm.

 Love my pine trees.

 Cedar Ridge has several kind of pines.

White pines, cedars, arbs, spruce and more.

Took a walk yesterday afternoon with the camera.

Perfect weather. A perfect day.

Got some good photographs of logs, rocks and trees.

Got to spend some time in the studio.

Made a dozen small quilts for cards.

A friend stopped over for a short visit.

Made the mistake of drinking a cup of tea while

watching the Voice.

After only 3 hours of sleep I got a great

shot of the sunrise.

Now another day of making small quilts.

Need 100 cards to take to a seminar with me in June.
