Shipshewanna

Did you notice we were gone.

We went to Shipshewanna  to attend 2 southern

gospel concerts.

Thursday the BOOTH BROTHERS

Friday the ISSAC'S

Both were awesome.

We arrived home refreshed in the spirit.

Plus the car was filled with fabric, more fabric

and food.

Fresh suet for the birds, breads for the freezer,

A case of Yoder canned peaches.

Sausages from Yoder meats.

A winter worth of treats.

Did I say seeing lots of quilts.

Shipsee is the mecca for quilters. 

Looking out my windows

 This morning  I was looking at a house on the

inter net.  Only 2 acres. plenty of room for my art.

Screen room, plant room. A shop for my husband.

 BUT I would have to leave this peaceful place.

We really need to simplify,

But how. In our area big places like ours

do not sell.  This place is getting too much work

for us. I guess wait until we have. too.

In the meantime I enjoy my little bit of heaven.

Fall is in the air

 The leaves are starting to turn early this year.

Love the colors-Love the smell of fall too.

Like a heady wine full of body.

Yesterday afternoon I went outside AT 4 to

just sit one the porch and enjoy the fresh air.

My husband joined me and we chatted for an hour.

We always spend extra time outside in the fall

we know winter will not be far behind.

 Some vandals tried to bust up my sign but my

husband had used 4 inch screws to put it

together so they only got one of the boards off.

Need to keep the sign up this is how strangers

find me. Artist like to be found at times.

Well the sun is coming up between the pine trees

out my kitchen window. Time to start my day.

Read about Libby's changing condition this morning.

I said a prayer for her. So sad  for such a talented

mind to be in this state. Lets all think of her and

hope for peace in her life and those around her.

Leaves of fall

 Made some progress yesterday.

I started to add color it is coming alive now.

Still needs more work and more leaves.

 This quilt needed that pop of color.

Need to refine it now.

I woke up  or should I say I am still trying to

wake up this morning. I need to get it in gear.

I have a full day to work in the studio and I

am wasting it.  Some days are like that it is

just nice to loll around and get a slow start.

This cool weather does that to me,

it feels so good to just curl up in a chair

with a blanket and read. Well I am going to the

studio NOW.

Birds around the farm.

 I love  watching the birds around the house and pond.

The crows are really aggressive they have found the

watermelons in the garden poking holes in them.

Such a waste.

I love my watermelons.

 The pond attracts so many birds.

Ducks, herons, doves, crows to name a few.

All the critters inspire me to create art.

I am blessed to live in such a lively environment

full of things to photograph.

It will soon be time for the Sand Hill Cranes to start

October. Her photos will be features in my quilts.

We will be a great combination.

I feel honored to be able to use her photos.

Well I need to get busy.

Today is potato day my husband peeled 2 big

pots of potatoes from the garden. I will make potato

soup and scalloped potato casseroles for the freezer.

That way I take a container out at lunch time and

go to the studio to play and heat it up at supper.

A winner.
