Morning Glories.

 Finally got back in the studio yesterday morning.

I am working on the background.

I was happy when doing the squiggles in the background

smoothed out the small wrinkles.

Now just to do the rest of the background, finish off

with a binding or facing and the hanging sleeve

and I am done. Maybe Wednesday and Thursday

will do the trick.

 

Our past week has been a little stressful.

We thought we would be making a trip to the emergency

room with our son. He was in such pain for 3 days

than he gets up on Monday and the pain is gone.

Chemo does strange things. Every other week

we have a new adventure.

No more Studio until after Christmas

 I had sent a quilt square to Frances for her 70th birthday.

I got this awesome postcard in the mail this past week-end.

Love the polar bear and the poinsettia stamp for Christmas,

The clock for the end of the year truly a winter card.

Made my fudge to give to others last night.

All cut and placed in pretty containers.

With all the holiday business I will not have any

time to go to the studio until after Christmas.

I am far enough along on the morning glory quilt

that I think I will finish in time provided there

are no more crisis until January 8th.

Easy fudge.

1 cup miniature marsh mellows

3 cups of choc chips

1 can eagle brand

pinch of salt

Microwave for 3 to 4 minutes

Stir to mix well than stir in 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

or what ever flavor you want you fudge to be.

spread in a 8x8 foil lined pan let set than cut into squares.

The morning glory quilt.

 I had a good day in the studio.

I got all the leaves stitched and the stems except

for the dark brown ones done.

That leaves the flowers.

I am thinking of maybe facing the back of the

flowers so they can float out around the edges.

I will have to do a test flower to try it.

Looks like I may get this project done in time.

Awesome sunset

 The sunsets have been awesome lately.

They glow like they are on fire.

Some new materiel for quilts.

I have only 5 more leaves to outline on the

Morning Glory quilt.

Than I can do all the centers.

I hope to get a lot done in the next two days.

Mark is feeling better so I am off cooking duty.

Wednesday he ate 3 helpings of chicken n noodles

and took the leftovers home.

Nothing better than moms cooking.

Puducah bound.

 Both of my quilts were accepted into the

AQS show in Puducah show.

I love the AQS shows.

The quilts are always returned in a timely

fashion and are handled so well.

I hope you all out there will enjoy these two.

Small art quilts

 Christmas is fast approaching and it is time to finish

the stockings and gifts.

Looking back on some smaller art quilts and

wishing I had more time in the studio. 

 The theme is always the same Nature.

What a peaceful idea to look around where I live

for ideas for my art.

 Yesterday my son Mark started a new treatment

for his cancer. We hope and pray that this will

put him in remission and give him some quality

time with his family.

I haven't been too faithful in my blogging the

last few months I hope you understand.

 I hope everyone out there health and peace

in the coming year.

Create lots of art and enjoy life.

Working in the studio

Yesterday I got this one finished and bound.

 Today is the last day to enter AQS Paduccah.

Down to the wire as usual.

Finished just in time to be my wall

machine quilted entry.

I was happy to see a category for miniatures. 

 My heron quilt will be my entry for that category.

The water was made from Frieda Anderson's

hand dyed fabric. I made the background and all

summer I wondered what to put on it.

Ah enter the Heron.

Perfect.

Now to get going on the entry.
