 Took a ride around the pond this afternoon before

going in the house. The green heron was sitting on the

wood duck box.  Next weekend I go on retreat with

Judy Tucker. We plan to have a great time,

30 quilt maniacs.  All on the same page.

 Finally my view of Lake Michigan.

I love the water and hope it cools off soon

so I can enjoy it again.

Frog Time

 The frogs are big this year.

Winter was so mild I think they wintered over.

SO they had a head start.

 In a couple of weeks the pond will go away.

we are doing  a pond less water feature.

The pond was too hard to clean up each spring.

I dyed some darks yesterday.

Now spending time doing the wash out.

They turned out nice and dark.

Got a new project in mind.

I love dirt roads into the woods.

My favorite thing when I was little.

Beets

 I saw this quilt on the internet and fell in love.

I love beets

Especially pickled beets.

Just never though of making a beet quilt.

Doves

My friend Mary Ann Pals took this photo of a dove on her deck.

I love the colors  and the birdsong of this bird.

We had a quiet week end at home.

The best kind.

Except I drank a Pepsi.

After no caffeine for a few months.

I was awake all night.

It should be an interesting day.

I think you will find me by noon curled up like the dove.

A River Runs Through.

 This quilt  will be at two shows this year.

In Chesterton I will show all 5 panels.

Fall is my go to theme.

As you can see I love water, birds and trees.

 We have a little green heron in our big pond every year.

 Of course there are always herons.

They love to fish in the pond.

I think this is the best tree I have done.

Perfect oak tree.

 This heat has left me dreaming of fall and fall

colors. Fall is my favorite time of the year.

I am glad I kept  the painting I did of a fall day.

It is a classic.

 Tree bark and leaves.

All in my favorite colors.

 This morning it is not too bad.

The rain overnight cooled things off.

Over 1 inch.

 You can see I surround myself by wood, rocks and nature.

The rock walls that John built are special.
