Summer

 Here I am back again with some flower photos.

 That is my life flowers, trees, fabric, quilting, and family.

Not a bad combination.

We have visitors from Minnesota this week end.

Nice to see them again.

I have signed up for a quilting retreat.

Maybe I will get myself back in the quilting mood.

I have been missing in action.

 I feel bad I haven't been blogging very faithfully.

My life is just so chaotic.

I am going to miss some big deadlines.

I have been in a art brain fog since we lost Mark.

 Now that the fog is lifting we seem to be busier

than ever. The gardens are blooming .

I am enjoying the colors so much.

I am thinking of abandoning the blog and just focusing

on FaceBook.

City garden

 This is what I am trying to work on now.

I keep getting interrupted.

Which is why I do most of my creating from

January to May 1st.

Summer is just too busy.

 Last night John, Starla and the redheads took

us out to the Farmhouse restaurant for supper.

To celebrate our Anniversary in May.

It was nice to hear all the new plans for

FAIR OAKS FARMS.

It was so nice. On the way home we got to see

the SUN SET. nice.

Today I will get the quest suite ready for company

on Monday. Getting it ready means finding a new

spot for the 12 inch layer of quilts on the bed.

I am excited. A visit from family and I

get to look at all those quilts again.

Flower Power

 I love my flowers.

This year I put all annuals in pots.

I find that there are less weeds.

 I am trying to dye some fabric.

So far the results are not the best.

I can always use them for backing.

 Today I am trying something new.

I soaked fabric in soda ash water.

Scrunched or folded and put in the freezer overnight.

Today I will pour dye over them.

If I can ever get my camera to download photos

I will show them to you.

 Finally got my Bi-pap machine.

10 days of 7 hours of sleep a night is giving me energy.

The machines and mask are so much better 6

years later. Not a problem at all to wear and sleep.

Hopefully I will once again be creative.

Daylily Time Again

 Sorry I have been absent since June 5th.

Yes that long.

Life just got in the way.

The day lilies have started blooming again.

I am amazed that every year they return.

Bright and Beautiful.

 Rosalie Dace suggested last year that I concentrate

on making quilts of flowers close up.

Much more effective that a bunch of little flowers.

I think that is a great idea.

Yesterday Anita Krug and I went to the IMA in Indy

for the opening of the SAQA Dialouge show.

We both have quilts in the show.

I really enjoyed the panel discussion.

Kathy Loomis had some interesting points.

Over all it was an enjoyable day.

I saw some marvelous quilts and enjoyed

talking with other fiber artist.

Garden time

 Sorry I have been absent.

The jungle outside was calling and growing.

I am close to getting things in shape.

  This beautiful place requires time to get and keep

the weeds and fallen branches under control.

Monday Andrew will help me finish the last of it.

This will be the 4th time he has been here.

Thanks goodness for grandchildren that are laid off.

He is fun to have around and visit with as we work.

Strong too. All the hard jobs will get done.

Last night  Brad got back from the Netherlands.

Brent will return next week from London.

Can't wait to here about their adventures.

It has been a busy time.

Brad graduated from Purdue's school of nursing.

He is now in the Netherlands on a school trip,

 Brent  is in London on another school trip looking

at the gardens  of London and when he gets

home he will start a year long internship in St. Louis.

Jenna will graduate from high school in June.

Holly will go back to school in August.

As will Jenna.

Always some thing going on.
