Life at Cedar Ridge

Well we are ready for winter.
2 new exterior doors, 3 new vent stack collars
replacing the ones the squirrels chewed off.
all garden pots in the garage or turned over.
leaves and pine needles picked up.
Irrigation blown out. water pumps drained.
Takes a lot in the Midwest to prepare for winter
Winter is my quiet place.

I tried to make a fleece jacket.
Big fail. Made me look bigger than big.
So Saturday my daughter and grand daughter
came over. I filled 2 large black leaf bags
with all the fleece plus any thing plaid
( did I mention it was the plaid fleece)
winter fabric in the bags. Plus 6 containers
of yarn. My frozen hands make knitting and
crochet impossible now.

Sunday morning my son in law sent me a photo
of Kathy and Liz surrounded with the containers
planning what to do with the yarn and fabric.
Made my heart smile.

New project

I saw this flannel quilt by David at Crimson Tate
in Indy. Called David at the shop and ordered it
and some additional yardage.

The back is fun also.
I may make this one for me.
Or my grandson who is building himself
a house. Yes with his hands with a few friends.
I got a brown sofa I want to wrap with quilts.

Than I saw this shawl and thought .
I could crochet this onto a piece of wool
flannel or acrylic.
I have been thinking of stopping my blog.
What ya think.
Will face book be enough or Instragram?

5 weeks post surgery

What do you do when you have to sit with
the ice and compression on your leg.
Search the Internet for great ideas.
Love this jacket.
I do.
Found this peaceful scene with my favorite verse.

Love the cabbage and the colors
A great idea and color scheme for a quilt.
I am getting more flection each day.
I got a bunch yesterday when my office
chair seat went down to 12 inches off the floor.
OUCH.
Could not get up.
Had to send the great grandson upstairs
for the quad cane.
He decides to play pogo stick with it.
Finally he arrives and I got up.
Kids.

Turkey Trot

September is here.
My past 3 weeks has been spent in recuperation
from knee replacement.
The flock of 3 hens and their chicks kept me
entertained. They scratched through the flower
beds looking for bugs and seeds.
They gave me some ideas for some art quilts.
So glad I am on the mend.
That is one brutal surgery.
6 more weeks of therapy than
a few months of being good.

Butterflies and Blooms

This weeks entertainment.
Watching the butterflies go crazy
for all the blooming bushes in my gardens
Amazing markings on the side of this one

The softest blue and yellow

A perfect morning walk.

Summer fast fading.

I am frantically getting myself and my house
ready for my second knee replacement.
Amazing what needs to be done.
Gardens weeded.
Meals in the freezer,
Exercise,
WOW.
