My first quilt

This was my first attempt at quilting. My grand daughter Liz asked for a quilt for her wedding gift. She picked out the colors and  wanted a large square motif. I thought simple just make 12 inch square and sew them together. Well is wasn't simple but it was fun.  Three weeks later it was done. I learned a lot making that quilt. First of all not to be so ambitious but she is very happy with it. It suits her artistic nature. She is studying art education in Fort Wayne.

Trees

I love the way trees show their shape without their leaves.
Of course there is nothing I like better than trees, leaves and landscapes.
I take my camera with whenever I go out.
The top one is the oak trees in the at the bottom of the hill.

The middle one is a Sycamore in the fall.
This tree in in Lafayette and I do not know the name.
The summer was so dry it dropped its leaves early.
I found this tree when I was picking up clay for pottery.

Life at the bird feeder

Oh good I have the feeder all to myself.

Where did they come from. Must have come in behind my back.
My goodness they are more of them.

Watch out here I come.
Last one in the pool. Watch out.

My opinion of my work.

Looking at the paintings/collage's on my previous post.
I think I should donate them to the nursing home for Bingo prizes.
I went back to the sewing machine and made more mini Art Quilts of silk, wool yarn and beads.
I think that this is more my strong point.
What do you think?
My sewing machine, fabric and I work together.

Finished 10 small painting/collage's

I ended up going a different direction with the 8x10 's.
Tell me what you think. I started  to collage one of my bird photos and ended doing  mark making with a white pen.

I am thinking of selling them separately or I could combine them in one grouping to use in my show. After all there are birds in my woods when I go walking.

I will either go back to the river scene with the red gesso background or go into the sewing room and do some landscape quilts. One of my favorite things to do.

This is my favorite one. I am thinking of asking $45 including shipping in the US.
