Battle Lake Hills # 1

When we were teenagers we spent
a couple of week each summerat Sand Bay Resort in
Battle Lake Minnesota. In the evening the
teens from the camp would go across the lake and
sit on the hill drinking cokes and talking the night
away. Now the same hills are full of houses.
This is another quilt going to Lafayette for the show.
Some close ups of the details
We had a busy day today, Yard work, house work
and making lunch for the guys. They are putting
a new roof on Mark's house. A gathering of brothers,.
father and grandsons helping each other.

More small quilts

Here are a couple more of the small art quilts.
As you can tell I was a busy quilter the first 3 months
of the year. I can't wait to go out to the garage and
see how the fish turned out. The hard part of clay
is waiting for the kiln to cool down.
Today I will photograph the larger quilts and
get my entry in for the AQS show in Grand Rapids.
Have a great day.

More of In Harmony with Nature

Here are some more of the small art quilts for the
show we will install next Monday. My total production
for 3  1/2 months is 20 small quilts, 2 large
and 4 medium. Hopefully these will last me for a year.
I plan to spend July and August purging the closets.
Long overdue.  River Landing the 6x8 little quilt
is one of my favorites. I like to put something
from my jewelry drawer on my quilts as a
signature. Adds a nice touch.
The road to the Cabin in the Woods is a tranquil
scene, I always love winding woods roads.
I am doing my blog at 2:30 in the morning.
That is what happens when I eat 4 squares
of dark chocolate. Must remember only 1 a day.
Good thing I have a light day Thursday.

More of In Harmony with Nature

Another busy day. I printed labels for the 5 larger
quilts and will iron them on Wednesday. Than I
will glaze some of the fish I made and fire them
on Thursday. If they look good enough they will
be attached to some weathered wood.
I have started to collect items I will need for a
month long vacation. I have never taken that
long off. I plan to play with watercolors.
Hope I can relax and enjoy the inactivity.
Since my grandson need a couch I found
me a new one on sale and he can have the brown
one. I am thinking of painting the walls aqua.
Changes Changes.

Blue skies, sunshine spring flowers and ripples on the pond

Finally a real spring day. I even went out and
did a half hour of yard work. The sun was shinning
today, spring flowers are blooming and it was warm.
I live in a magical place. The birds are all nesting.
The pear trees lining the driveway will bloom this
week and I am almost done with the labels on my
quilts. I just need to do 5 more. Than everything
will be ready to go.  I bisque fired my fish and pots
and will glaze them the next 2 days and fire on
Thursday. Monday we will install the show.
Love this time of the year. My husband planted
the potatoes and 2 rows of sweet corn. The
tomatoes are 2 inches tall in their trays.  It is a
good life.
