Another 2 days on the Wolf River

Another 5 hours into  the Wolf River Quilt.
I am really enjoying working on this one.
Probably because of the pleasant time we had
in Wisconsin that fall. I love to do water scenes
too. I still have a long way to go but I hope
to be stitching by Tuesday or Wednesday.
My husband does not understand this one.
He doesn't like the yellow tree. It bothers him.
He is usually my best critic in helping me
make corrections. I think I will have to go visit
my friend the artist Doris. Her eye is impeccable.
There is a lot of shading to do and water to
add to the bottom 2/3 of the quilt.
Have a great week-end all.

Wolf River Quilt

I forgot how big this one was.
Probably 44 x 65. I started with adding more
tree trunks than started to apply foliage
to the top and the reflection. Something is
not quite right. I will figure it out.
It will have to wait until Friday,
I have a doc appointment and shopping today.
Our 12 year old microwave is doing
strange things. Time for a new one.
The frig needs restocking with fresh fruits
and veggies. I also want to make a stop at
Big Lot's they have irons for $15. Never
have enough irons. Fusing is hard on them.
Plus it is a good place for glue.
Have a great day.
I will - than I will be exhausted shopping
does that to me.

A bright spot in winter

The last pot of flowers to watch bloom.
My daughter gave me a bag of bulbs in September
for my birthday and I have been enjoying them
all winter. The trick is to bring a pot in every 2 weeks
and watch each one unfurl. The last one is the best.
The buds were ruffly and interesting.
Almost as pretty as the flower.
My husband has been out snow plowing all night.
Not bad for a 70 year old. He will be grouchy though.
I slept for 7 hours straight think maybe his snoring
is waking me up. I usually am awake at 2 am.
Today I will work on the Wolf River quilt
Another quilt that was meant for the Quilt National
entry. Well this one will also be great for our
May show. I will show you tomorrow.
Now off to play.

The finished quilt

It snowed all day so I added the hand stitching to
the quilt I showed you yesterday. This will be for the
SAQA auction this summer. Hope it is well liked.
We had over 7 inches of snow. I guess I will not
be going anywhere until Thursday.
It was a perfect way to spend the day
embellishing a mini quilt. Wednesday I
will work on the Wolf River Quilt.
I need to get cranking on some larger pieces.
I make myself do my computing before 7 am
so I can head to the studio by 8 am.
I seem to get more done.
Time to turn in and read myself to sleep.

SAQA auction quilt

I finished the hanging pocket on Sunrise and my quilts
for The View From Here are ready to be shipped.
They will be with other SAQA quilts from the Midwest
at the International Quilt Festival in Cincinnati Ohio
April 11-13 at the Duke Energy Center.
We are supposed to get snow Tuesday 5 to 8 inches.
I changed my Doctor appointment to Thursday.
I do not like to fight blowing and drifting snow.
I can drive through 5 inches  as long as I can see.
I will finish the SAQA auction quilt and go on to
another unfinished quilt from last summer.
The 12 x 12 needs stitching and some paint
to finish it. Maybe some hand stitching too.
I will show you the finished product.
