I love Owls

I love owls.
17 years ago when we moved in this house.
the owls would hoot at night.
Such a nice sound to fall to sleep to.
Dan my great grand son loves owls too.
In fact he loves all birds.
Airplanes too.
After all they fly too.
I found these awesome photos online.
Enjoy them as you prepare for the Holiday weekend.
May your time with family and friends be
BLESSED.

November at the Dunse

My friend Wendy was able to find a studio on
the Dunes. Her walks include many sites
of the dunes and Lake Michigan.
She is truly blessed.
Her photos inspire me.

Winter

Love this winter bear I found on the net.
Finally back to my self.
I find I sweat so much when working that
I lose my nutrients.
Causing my exhaustion.
Need to learn to drink water
MORE water.

Sunset

Sorry I have not posted.
I am having a problem with
hits from Russia to my blog.
I have changed my password
every day lately.
What do I do to stop it.

Tea on a Saturday afternoon.

I went to my friend Doris's house Saturday
afternoon to pick up 3 silk shells she had dyed
for the Holiday Art Show this Friday and Saturday.
I need to sew up the sides for her.
Doris is going to be 96  this month.
She was busy painting watercolors.
I saw my Gate art quilt on her wall.
She made some tea and we visited.
Alert, active and interesting as usual.
On my way home I saw the cranes in the sky.
Good Day

Art quilts from the past

2011 was a good year.
I fully went to fabric art.
Creating art with fabric as paint.
I wish I could find some time and energy to
create this year.
I promise 2018 will be better,

Shipshewanna

Did you notice we were gone.
We went to Shipshewanna  to attend 2 southern
gospel concerts.
Thursday the BOOTH BROTHERS
Friday the ISSAC'S
Both were awesome.
We arrived home refreshed in the spirit.
Plus the car was filled with fabric, more fabric
and food.
Fresh suet for the birds, breads for the freezer,
A case of Yoder canned peaches.
Sausages from Yoder meats.
A winter worth of treats.
Did I say seeing lots of quilts.
Shipsee is the mecca for quilters.

Finally a new quilt.

I finally got something new on the design board.
Imagine sunflowers on the stems.
That's how far my brain can think.
Lets see how far I progress.

Robins inspire art quilt

THESE PHOTOS   INSPIRED THE
QUILT AT THE BOTTOM

On their way south the Robins stopped in our
pond to take a drink.
Ate as many berries as they could find
and headed south.
I used the photos as patterns to make this quilt.

Praying Mantis

Yesterday we were putting the flower pots to
bed for the winter. We found this bug while
we where tipping over the large pots.
I store the larger pots upside down to keep
them from freezing and splitting over the
winter.
Last week I found a walking stick bug.
Love the connections with nature.

Quilts I like

Some of the quilts I have liked on face book lately.
The colors  of the circle one are so restful.
I could see doing this one.
Like the wonky diamonds.
Will need to do this one.
Again the colors grab my eye.
The brown fabrics  in the lower right
are unexpected. Like the contrast.
Do you save photos of quilts and color
combinations that grab you eye?

Nature

Marilyn Lees photo of this dandelion is awesome.
I follow her journey as she builds a cabin on
the way upper Minnesota border.
A strong women.
Her husband's sudden death had not stopped her.
She continues to build with help from friends.

Fall is here

The prettiest time of the year is here.
It doesn't last long enough.
We really need lots of rain going into winter.
The pond is the lowest I have seen since
we moved here.
All the birds have left the farm except for the
ones that stay all winter.
The winter birds haven't come back from
up north yet though.
Relax and enjoy the month of October.
