Summer Flowers

The flowers are so pretty right now.
I am taking photos for future art quilts.
We finally had a sunny day with no rain.
I am thinking of doing large close ups of flowers
In a series. Great idea?
I am so blessed with lots to choose from.
Today is FibR meeting in Lafayette.
I have missed 2 meetings and it will be nice to
see everyone again.

I really like this daisy flower.
It is so vibrant. Than the zinnias are just awesome.
well off to the studio for a few hours.

Sunset on the Lake

Yesterday My sewing machine was down  so I
painted  two sunset backgrounds on the next two
quilts in the line up.
I think they may work just fine.
Now to add the vegetation and the chairs.
I am so fortunate to have a great sewing machine
repair man just an hour away.
I had thought I was pulling a dust ball out of the machine
and it was a spring which I lost. No sewing machine.
Bummer. I went to visit J&R late afternoon yesterday
and within an hour it was fixed. He salvaged a spring
off of another old machine and a small plastic tube
and for $25 I was back in business.
I did block in 5 acrylic beach  canvases,
So I am on track.
Have a great day you all.

My new cabinet

I wanted to show you what my husband made for
my bathroom. I have a vertigo issue and need to
keep my hair spray cans up and not have to bend
over to get them each day.
I found 2 old boxes in the garage and lo and behold
they  were the exact size of the painting that hung
in the bathroom by the mirror.
My husband took a piece of piano hinge to join one
of them together and now I have a cabinet.
Now just to clean up the mess in the box that
sets on the counter only spent $8 on the hinge.

Gate to the Beach is finished

Finished this one up late yesterday.
Now to finish up 2 this next  week.
Getting closer to show time.
The view out the front door this morning.
Looks like it will be a sunny day.
Now to relax for one day.
Than the push is on.
Remind me never to do a solo show again.
