Round and round

 Love this circle quilt.
It did take some time to do the beading.
The colors are so fine.
I have been going in circles this week.
Two weeks and 2 days until knee replacement.
I came up with a cough and shortness of breath so
began a series of test. My nuclear stress test showed
that my heart is in good working order. I do not know
what the Echo showed yet. I will go back to the
cardiologist on Tuesday than pre op tests on Thursday
next week. That will make 5 medical visits in 8 days.
Enough to exhaust anyone. Thank  goodness  I do not
have the heart of my father or uncles. They all
had serious heart issues. I am thinking that my
cough issue is lung related and related to the
fumes from the fabrics and products in my studio.
Darn that will mean washing and ironing a lot of
FABRIC.
Speaking of my father I made a small quilt about
him. He always went to Costa Rica fishing in February.
He was an avid fisherman. There are lots of green
parakeets in Costa Rica. He lived a full life. 85 years.
He enjoyed every one on them.

Flower Power

The gardens are starting to look lovely.
 Day lilies and cone flowers.
Love the deep red day lilies.
Than the back study of just plain leaves.
Summer is a wonderful time in the gardens.

Montana bound

These two art quilts are going on a trip to
Montana.
For a show called Montana meets Indiana.
Dana Zier lived for a time in Indiana and
recently went back to her home.
Montana.
She asked some Indiana friends to join in a
show with here in her new gallery in Montana.
I keep thinking that the one below needs
something more but I like the simplicity of it.
Well off to the studio to work. Hard. Much to do.

Lovely things in my world.

I ran across this photo of some flowers I received
last year. The memory is warm and cozy and the
flowers are still beautiful.
My sunset art quilt came home.
I love this one and I am going to keep this in my
collection. I don't keep many but this one is special.
The yellow daisy flowers are blooming by the big
pond again. I got the seeds from my friend Maria Fedniayk.
She was a sweet heart. Originally from the Ukraine.
She was another fellow artist and friend.
The memory is sweet.
Yesterday I made a chart of all I need to do in the
next 3 months. Lots of deadlines for shows.
Now to get working.

Friends and good times

I took my friends Doris B Myers to brunch today
at the new Farmhouse Restaurant in Fair Oaks
Indiana today. Her and I have our art displayed there
for the next few months. This is my 92 year young
friend. While she was in the bar posing with her art
she made friends with the bar waiter, never too old for
good looking men. The food is very good and the
service was outstanding.
Here is another old friend.
This is a painting by Doris of Charlie Carter's barn.
Charlie lived a mile north of as when I was a child.
He drank pretty heavy so he did not have a car.
He took his tractor to town to get his groceries.
He wired a bushel basket to the tractor hitch to
carry his good. I loved the looks of the old barn
and traded Doris one of my paintings for this one a
few years back. It hangs in my bedroom and I
look at it daily, she is one heck of a painter and
a great friend.
