2014 exchange quilts

Robbie Payne of Goodrich, Michigan sent me this
12x12 exchange quilt today. The hand stitching and bead
work is exquisite.
This is my exchange quilt. I will finish them and
send them off next week. I used Marcia Drerse fabric.
Did some screen printing and stamping.

I received this one from Gayle Kush last week.
The strips are made from duponi silk.
The stitching on the grey is so fine.
Gayle is from Monroe, Michigan.
This is the second year we have done an exchange.
Tommy Fitzsimmons is  our other partner in
the exchange, she lost her sister this week.
My sympathies go out to Tommy.

Fall is here

Yesterday morning was a perfect day.
Blue skies, corn in the field ready to pick.
Pine cones falling to the ground.
Sedums a glow of lavender against the rocks.
This week is supposed to be a perfect weather
week in the Midwest. Go out and enjoy the day.

Surface design and art quilts

This spring I took a class with Jane Dunnewold
in St. Charles at the Fine Line Gallery.
She guided me in making some fabulous fabrics.
These small art quilts are made from some of
that fabric.
This one I combined it with some batik fabric.

Two of the leaves together makes heart.
This little landscape I added some more leaves
painted on it looks better.
It is nice to be back in the studio if only for a
couple of hours a day.
Rehab takes up so much of my time.
Than icing my knee. I am getting a lot of reading done.
The weather has been absolutely beautiful out there.
The whole week is supposed to be great.
Time to get some art made.
