Stitching

I did some mindless stitching today.
Took a piece of discharge fabric and
stitched logs. Than I worked on the
African piece. Too busy. Need to
chop down and add some solid color
borders. Maybe cream burlap
Still fighting the cortisone shots.
Not feeling too creative.
Have a nice peaceful week-end.

Studio clean up

Sorry I took a couple of days off.
The steroids shots to my knees made me feel bad
for 3 days. I sketched out an idea for a new quilt
My neighbors wood pile behind the fence. I
will be expanding this for a SAQA entry.
Remember the fabric I thought I did not have
any more. Well I cleaned the studio and found
another yard. I am putting the big quilt to the
side for 3 weeks while I get some deadlines met.
So today I decided to clean up a bit before
starting a new project. Happy surprise.
This is where I am now.
I will go back to it later.
I  have until the end of October to finish it.
Meanwhile I want to enter some of the International
Quilt  Show categories and also one for SAQA.
Well now with a clean studio I can think again.
Amazing how it gets to a point of being too messy.

Sun and shadows

The sun makes such pretty patterns on the snow.
Delicate tracings of the branches
blue grey on the snow.
Today I fused leaves on branches all day.
It seems to take hundreds of leaves per tree.
This last photo of an icicle is unique.
A sideways icicle.

Thoughts about spring

There must be an end to winter sometime.
At least by March 15th.
My thoughts have turned to birds, branches and leaves.
I am going to do a larger version of the bird
on a branch for some show this year.
I will take a break from the big quilt to make
something for SAQA.
I am thinking of log piles or wood grains.
Today I go off to the knee Doc for another shot.
So I will disappear for 24 hours until the
swelling goes down.
Than I am good for another 3 months.
Adios.

Why didn't I think of that.

One of the members of  the Art Quilt site sent me a E-mail .
Scan it and print it on your printer.
Duh!
Simple solution to my problem.
I have a scanner and a large format printer,
I even have some pre coated fabric from Darhma.
What a brilliant idea.
I will act on that today.
Off to the studio to continue the project.
