I do not know what possesed me?

I made 15 art quilts this week and my studio is a mess.
Yesterday afternoon when I went back to the
studio after lunch I just went nuts and started
in on a deep cleaning. Now it looks worse than ever.
The photo above is how I want it to look.
I will go back to the studio and try and bring
order out of chaos.
I even sorted fabrics in 9 drawers.
Now I have a stack of fabric that needs to go
back on the shelves in the proper colorway.
I try to keep the fabric in groups of colors.
I always mess it up and have to sort again.
I found some good fabrics for the big  quilt
I will be starting on.
Good for tree trunks.
My mind is always thinking ahead to  my next
project. I plan most of my quilts in my mind.
I do not have enough patience to sketch them.
Late at night or driving long distance are
good times to let the mind free and plan.
While now I  better go and find the
floor, counter and table so I can create again.

Combining paint and photos with stitch.

Just a little bit of what I am working on.
I print my photos on cotton and add some paint
to the mix. Than I stitch and mount on stretched
canvases.  Some interesting effects.
The lake shore is so calming.
I like the inclusion of people in the photos.
I went shopping with my daughter yesterday.
We haven't spent a day together since June.
It was nice to catch up on the family doings.
She needed to go shoe shopping. 5 pairs later
she had her fill. I needed more small canvases
and Michael's had a sale and a good coupon.
Now I need to unload the car and get into the studio.
I find it is easier to unload the car the morning
after shopping. Most of it goes to the studio today.

SAQA auction

This morning I was checking the SAQA auction
site and saw that my little quilt will be auctioned
off in Houston at the International Quilt show.
I think this is a honor.
I am continually amazed that people respond
more to the little quilts than to the big ones.
Yesterday I worked on a bunch of little
beach scenes. I also started to work on
a big quilt. Always something to do.
I got another 4 quarts of fresh tomato sauce
in the freezer it is going to be a tasty winter.
I like to have home made as much as possible,
I at least know what is in it.
Tuesday is massage day so off to the studio
for a couple of hours of work than an
ahhh afternoon.

Friday and Saturday's art quitls

Friday I put this small art quilt together. My daughter
liked it so I need to make another. She said that
people like to look at tranquil scenes to relax. I
never thought of that before. They get away by
looking into the art quilt. This scene I took on my
way home from Grand Rapids. I took the scenic
route home and found this at the end of a cul-de-sac.
4 red lawn chairs on a bluff on Lake Michigan.
Saturday I took one of my hot pads and turned it
into this small ditty. Than I chopped a quit into
2 pieces and made 2  12 by 12 sunsets.
I did not like it as a larger quilt and I think it
is perfect as two.
What a cop out to get some quilts together fast.
Monday I will work on and finish the red flowers
reflected in the water for Dana. I hear she is coming
back from the west in September so if I hustle
I can save the shipping cost and give it to her.
Have a great Sunday I am reading than I have a
opening to go to this afternoon. Perfect day.
