Todays progress

I spent all day cutting trees and tree trunks.
I used every pin I had to put them in place
so Saturday I need to fuse things in
place so I have my pins back.
I have a few corrections to do before I fuse.
Than I can move on to making birds.
I am even adding things to the middle panel.
 Need to lighten this tree up;
This panel needs work.
I am pleased by the progress.
It is looking like I imagined.

Part of the perle cotton I got at the close out.
Can you see hundreds of X's on a white background
creating a pattern. That is my idea for the thread.
Something to do when I am recovering from
knee surgery this summer.
I forgot to mention that the fabric was only $3 a yard.
That was too good a deal to pass up.
Today I fused 37 yards of 22 inch fabric.
I was preparing  the tree fabrics
Friday I will start on trees.

More fabric

Somehow I found another 44 yards of fabric that
I could do something with. The top two will make a
great modern quilt. Zebra is always good. The bottom
fabric maybe goes with the top two.
Orange is always good.
By the way I bought all the pearle cotton she
had left I have an idea using white fabric and
stitching all over it with colored thread.
I can always have my own sale. :)

Progress on the big one.

I  was busy today working on the quilt.
I have the background stitched on the
other 4 side panels and will start to add the
trees. Than to build some herons and
other birds. I am having trouble keeping my
focus. I am the type of person that has
a short attention span. I am anxious to
move on to something else but I know
that is not going to be possible for 2 more
months. Patience. I do not have any.

The robins came home.

My robin quilt was hanging in a medical center
for 9 months I brought them 5 paintings instead.
And brought the robin quilt home.
I really like this quilt.
I find I get attached to them
The first big art quilt I did.
The woods road lives at my daughters house.
Another one of my favorites.
Today I fused the backgrounds on the last.
four panels and stitched one of them.
Tuesday I will stitch more of them.
Than I can start adding the fun stuff.
Another cold night.
It is just a matter of tolerating this weather.
It will eventually end.

Thinking Spring

Wrapped in a blanket in my recliner thinking of
spring. I think of birds and flowers.
Green grass and green leaves.
Warm air and sunny skies and rain.
I spent yesterday putting leaves on the trees
on the big quilt. Lots of leaves.
I will start the other panels on Monday.
I first need to make all the backgrounds
coordinate and flow than I think I will build
the birds and squirrels.
Finally settling into a rhythm with this project.
But today its is a snuggle and cuddle day
with a good book in a warm house.
