Mini Quilts

I only got 3 mini quilts done so far.
This week has been a busy one.
I always use this pathway one.
The yellow lawn chairs below have azaleas around them.
In Saugatuck they always bloom superbly.
I loved the comos in this photo they were down
the street from the red chairs. I found lots of
flowers and chairs in Douglas-Saugatuck
when we were there this fall. Life sure has a
way of moving faster than the speed of light.
The sun is finally coming out and I need to
take some photos of fall color before they fall.
Have a great day.

Chokecherry trees

Finally our world is getting colored.
Change of leaves is late this year.
I love the coral color of the chokecherry.
When the sun shines through they just glow.
Today I will work on some small quilts.
I need to get some in the mail by Monday.
Another great tree is this small oak on the fence
line. It turns the most luscious red. Today is very
rainy and a perfect day to spend in the studio.
Yesterday I did the yearly doctor check up and
went to Sam's to do some Christmas stocking shopping.
Glad that is over I have no resistance to stores
and usually come home with things I did not need.
It takes my husband about 3 seconds to spot them
too. Well off to the studio.
Have a good day.

Foilage added

Closing in on the finish line on this quilt.
Trees are now dressed with foliage.
Now just some final stitching  on the trees and done.
Yesterday was the day cool hand  Luke washed
my windows. So I took all the curtains down and
pulled up all the shades. Wow I remembered why
we moved here. The views are super, the light
superb. I sat in a chair by the 11 foot great room
window and just took in the morning view.
About 20 robins were taking their bath in the
koi pond just out the window. The sun was raising
higher and spotlighting the fall trees in the distance.
Every window in this house was placed to
take advantage of the views.
What a perfect day to have the windows washed.
Made me appreciate my home again.
I know I always threaten to downsize but
than I see my home in a better light with
all those windows to the trees and birds
and I am in love again.

Mini Quilts

I blocked in 20 mini quilts so I have some to send
to the Ohio Craft Museum. They had sold most of
what I sent in September. But first I must finish
Dana's quilt. The series of mini quilts are from
photos taken on vacations in Sagatuck and Door
county. Two of my favorite places. I am going
to do a series of chair quilts. I loved the colorful
chairs I saw in Michigan and think they will make
nice art quilts.Than of course trees are always good.
Even though the seasons winding down the pond
still has a fading glory. Fall colors are special.
My husband told me we either have to close in the pond
or have a new liner put in next spring. I think I
would miss it too much so I vote for a new liner.
Well I am off to the Studio. Have a great day.

Folliage comes next

I decided that the catalpa tree should lean a bit.
A warm iron make short change of that.
Next I worked on the sumac.
Think I went overboard a bit will need to change
that in the morning. Started on the pine tree before
I remembered that I need to thread sketch the tree trunks.
First thing Monday I need to get this done.
I think it is progressing fairly good.
I need to finish it though and get on with the
small quilts for the holiday shows.
I am spending a quiet Sunday with the family.
A beautiful sunny day with cool temps.
Our color has been disappointing so far this year.
The dry weather this summer has effected the color.
Cannot wait to get in the studio Monday morning.
Have a great day.
