Dragonfly Dance II

One of my entries for Art Mix in Lafayette.
I like ponds and so do dragonflies.
They flit around in the summer from pond to pond.
Too fast to catch photos of them.
I carved a new stamp to add more color to the foreground.
Last week I made the wings out of Solvy, organza and netting.
The quilt is mounted on a stretched canvas making
it easier to hang in someones home.
Saturday morning will be spent picking up sticks
and branches in the yard with  my grand daughter.
We had a nice rain yesterday maybe 2 inches.
we needed it for the yard.
Have a great week-end.

Its a new day and a new quilt.

Nothing like a good nights sleep to chase the cobwebs away.
Ready for a new day in the studio.
These are the projects I have going now.
I will be bringing these at the Art Mix in Lafayette.
Can't wait to finish the rooster in the garden quilt.
Bright and cheery.
Have a great day everyone.

Good News.

A long day and I am so tired but thankful for
a good report for my sister. Her lymph nodes were
clean so her prognosis is good.
Life is good.

Another Robin quilt.

Making some small art quilts for Art Mix.
Birds are my favorite subject.
That  is right now.
I am making a series of 12 by 12 inch art quilts.
I have just today to finish them.
Yesterday I made the Robins that will go on the quilt.
My sister has surgery tomorrow morning.
I am going to sit with my brother in law.
Time in a hospital passes slowly.
I will take the dragonfly quilt with to bead
while we wait.
Appreciate your prayers for  a good report.
And a speedy recovery for my youngest sister.

Nine lives for me.

I think  I will keep this one.
The colors are soft.
There is minky on the back.
I figure Great grandma needs a quilt for baby sitting.
Look what the kitten is reaching for.
A bird.
I am off to the studio to make some small bird art quilts.
Have a great day.

Jenna's quilt

Jenna's quilt is more crib size.
Jenna is 14 and it will be awhile before she will
need this. In the meantime it stays at my house.
As you can see I have learned a lot about
squaring up a quilt in the past 3 years.
I have learned a lot about everything.
She picked out these fabrics.
All the quilts are backed in flannel.
Babies like soft things.
Monday is my quilt. I figure that sometime
I may get to baby sit so I needed one at my house.
