Texture

The bark on the trees on our hill is interesting
So much texture.
Gnarly and peeling.
No two are the same.
It is so interesting what nature give us in the way
of visuals. Looking at the tree I wonder is it hurt
 when it was growing,
Nature is a wonderful thing.
In 2009 I did a series with watercolors and
branches and leaves.
I pressed the branches from the trees around the pond.
Chokecherry.
Than I created spontaneous watercolor to use with
them and framed them under glass.
Wish I would have kept this one.
It is amazing how it is hard to re-create something.
Works of art are always one of a kind.

Cedar Ridge

As you can see I don't have to leave home to get
inspired.  Trees everywhere.
Plenty of  privacy.
Wide open spaces.
We bought this hillside building site because of
the mature pine trees and oak trees.
25 acres of perfection.
Until its is time to do fall and spring clean up
Which is where we are now.
We do the simplest thing bet out the weed whacker.
Chop it all down and let the pine needles fall.
Today I am going to plan out the next 2 months projects.
I need 2 pieces for the Niches show in November,
Several small in Primary colors for January.
One piece for a show in the North east.
I had better get off this computer and get busy.

Autumn

My favorite time of the year.
Cool nights and warm days,
Plenty of sunshine.
Whats not to like.
Here at Cedar Ridge the sunsets are awesome.
Watching the sunset in the west from the deck
is our favorite time of the day.
Trees, wooded hillside and a couple of ponds makes
this an ideal place to live.
My son is having his last chemo treatment this Friday.
Than another week of radiation.
4 weeks of building some strength.
Than the big surgery.
Keep us and him in your thoughts and prayers.
