Studio Time

It is time. Time to go to the studio again.
This will be my spot for the next 4 months.
I love this spot.
My first project will be a Kaffe Fasset fabric
messenger bag for Virginia Spiegel's cancer fund raiser.
I donated a big book on Kaffe and a bag to put it in.
It will be so good to be creating again.
I had too much good food for the holidays.
Plus too much salt.
Today's breakfast was a smoothie plus a cucumber.
Cucumbers work wonders for getting rid of water.
I am worried about my grandson. He has mono.
Any recommendations for curing it fast.
He is a junior in college.
I was thinking protein shakes would be good.
Protein heals. He needs to be back in school soon.

A VERY nice Christmas.

My kids  and sister did a great job.
100 spools of thread, candy, wine, bird feeders
and lots more. I feel very very spoiled.
My daughter brought the thread.
I have always lusted over those boxes of thread.
But was too cheap to buy myself one.
We had a great Christmas.
Everyone was mellow and enjoyed the food,
companionship and lots of love.
Now to pick up the house and put away the
Christmas dishes, silver and presents.
Then Thursday I can sew.
Whoopee.

Pannekoeken ( Apple Pancake)

I saw this on Diners and Dives and had to try it.
Well it was fabulous.
An apple pancake.
Heat oven to 400 degrees.
In a fry pan that can go in the oven put 2 sliced granny
smith or golden delicious apples plus 1/2 teaspoon
cinnamon on low heat. Saute for 3 to 5 min.until
slightly soft. Meanwhile prepare the batter,
Mix 1/2 cup whole milk or cream, 1 tablespoon vanilla,
 3 eggs  and 1/2 cup flour.set aside.
To the apples add  1 tablespoon white sugar, 1/2 teas salt,
1/2 cup brown sugar and 4 tablespoons butter
cook about 3 minutes. Add the batter to the middle of
the pan of hot apple mixture. Swirl the apple mix
through the batter to mix a bit. Cook until small
bubbles form around the edges.
Finish cooking in the oven for 12 minutes.
Flip out on a large plate. cut into 2 or 4 slices and
serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
Enjoy.
