Happy Birthday to me.

Tuesday was my 68th birthday. I proudly state my age.
Each year is a victory of sorts. This year especially has been
a difficult one but we are wading through all the stuff.
It makes the good times all that more precious.
So Labor Day I shopped on line for some batiks. Than
Friday I went to Bits n Pieces to use my Birthday coupon.
It is half you age off -34%- makes a nice sale for fabric,
Now I have  some new colors to use in my landscape
            quilt paintings.
I have been busy bisque firing  and test glazing some
of the 52 pieces of pottery. Cannot wait until I am finished.
Have a nice quiet week-end enjoy life it is interesting.

Fall Feast

At lunch yesterday the butterflies and bees were
enjoying the autumn joy sedums. The dragonflies
moved too fast for me to photograph them.
Well I must load the kiln again.
                           Have a great day.

Special Labor Day visitors.

Labor Day at sunset as I was down by the big pond
a mother Dove and her chick were getting one
last drink before roosting for the night.
I love the soft colors of this bird and their cooing
song I hear during the day at Cedar Ridge.
Their colors were as soft as the pastel sky in the
eastern sky as the day came to an end.
Have a peaceful day.

Sunset on Labor Day

The sky was on fire last night in the west.
But to the east it was a pastel study.
Yesterday I finished the 53 pots.
                                  Now to clean the studio,
                                  Fire and glaze them.
Than make 35 dried flower arrangements.
Last night  I relaxed long enough to
                                  take  some inspiration time.
                                  Have a good day.

Sunday at the Ridge

The cold front brought the most beautiful sky.
Bright blue skies and puffy clouds.
Not to mention the cooler temps.
Not much rain though.
I love the leaves on the Liguarea.
The one plant in my garden
I grow just for the leaves.

Than there is my favorite honey suckle.
The colors are yummy.
Good palette for a quilt.
The leaves and the flower
would be a great quilt.
Just 7 more containers to go.
I will finish them tomorrow.
I miss my sewing machine.
After Wednesday I will be able to return
to the new quilt I started.
:)
