Looking at photos past.

Here are some more of the photos I sent my client.
It brings back memories of the flower beds of past.
Each year they evolve into something new.
The basket above finally rotted out the bottom.
It was so pretty for a few years.
I love pathways into areas.
I remember hauling the rocks and dead branches
to create this pathway 9 years ago.
Not something I could do now.
I remember the year I asked a grandchild to pick up sticks.
I had to put the dead branches back on this pathway.
I am glad I take photos to keep the memories going.
Any one of them will make a great art quilt.
Today we will chop down most of the dead
flower stems, Our regular putting the yard to bed
for the winter.  It is almost that time again.
We do it early so the white pine needles
that fall in October  can re mulch the beds.
How fast this year has gone.
It seems they go faster each year.
Last night we had Andy our grandson over for supper.
Today Brad another grandson will help.
We love to visit with them.
I will make Brad homemade thick chili.
And will send some food back to college with him.
I freeze containers of food for him  to
supplement his food budget.
Thank goodness he is only 50 minutes away.

Travels.

One of my customers wanted some photos  for
her new kitchen redecorating.
I browsed through my photos looking for candidates.
Like traveling memory lane.
Remembering the travels we took to Wisconsin and Michigan.
A river scene in northern Wisconsin.
The view outside my kitchen window.
The winding road to the cabin in the woods
we stayed in last September.
Life is good to us.
I hope we can find time to go somewhere this fall
My favorite time of the year.
I have officially closed the canning kitchen.
I am done.
I will be glad to get back to art.
I am having a sink installed in my furnace room
so I can play with the messy dyes and paints in there.
My goal is to have a play date the first week of October.
I have a couple of friends who have
questions on how to do things.
So we will play.

Sunrise and sunbeams

 Love the cold morning sunrises.
Misty, dew ridden and glowing.
There is something special about the early morning.
It is fall now and the light changes.
Intoxicating.
The smells of decaying leaves.
Crisp cool days.
Like a fine wine.
Yesterday I worked on a quilt and
finally put  it up on the design board.
Should have done this from the beginning.
Something doesn't work.
Now to figure out what.
My dear husband found 3 more flats of
tomatoes in his garden.
I am about done with the harvest thing.
I suggested he find another home for
any  more abundance from his garden.
Mary's kitchen will be closed after today.
Salsa will be the last thing I can.
Have a great day.
