3 days later

Wednesday morning  I went around and raised all the
blinds, moved furniture and got ready for Luke the
window washer.  Than I sat down in my chair with my
morning tea and looked out the 10 foot  window in
the great room. I had never taken time in 12 years to
raise the blinds and enjoy the back yard. Early morning
sun and the spring greens of May I just sat and let my
soul soak up the view. What a pleasant time.
Than I looked around with all the light shining in
and saw a lot of cleaning to be done. I washed all
the throw pillow and blankets. All the bedding and
curtains in the house. I finally finished Friday afternoon.
I could barley walk but the house smelled so good.
Fresh air and soap are such good odors.
Some times a good cleaning is good for the soul.
Have a great week-end all.

Spring is here

Spring has finally come to Indiana.
The wood ducks swim around the pond and
everything is starting to green up. I love the
early morning fog on the pond. Today the
window washer comes. It will be nice to see my
world through clean glass. They are so dirty from
the long winter. I need to get started on the 6
12x12 art quilts I need to make for an exchange.
Today will be a good day to start. I will stay
in the studio out of Luke's way. He does the
windows inside and out. What a luxury.
Well the day is starting with the bird song
outside my windows and it is time to get a move on.
Have a great day.

Battle Lake Hills # 2

Another of the Minnesota series. I think there
will be lots of Minnesota scenes in my future.
Well the car is loaded and I am ready to go to
Lafayette today. I have my inventory sheets done.
Art shows are not just art there is paperwork,
real work hanging the art and making food for the
opening. Which will be May 17th at the Wells
Center in Lafayette, IN. It is going to be a beautiful
day today. I am looking forward to seeing what my
3 other  artist friends have created for our show.
I love art and the artists. Such entertaining people.
Well you all have a great week.

Minnesota Prairie

 Another in the Minnesota series.
This one has 5 hours of hand stitching on it.
A real labor of love. I love the fields in late July.
That is when we would go fishing.
By then all 45 acres of melons were cleaned of weeds
and picking would not start until August.
So we would get 2 weeks of fun in the waters
of Battle Lake. Fishing , swimming and eating fish.
I think it took 2 weeks to get the dirt and sweat
of field work out of our pores.
It was one way of keeping 6 kids busy.
