Summer is winding down.

The garden is glowing with yellow.
The color of the sun.
Summer is moving fast now.
The buzz of the tree locust
tells me in 6 weeks cooler weather will be here.
Soak up the heat while you can.
Today is a day to catch up at home.
Clean the kitchen.
Go to the library. Get groceries.
Enjoy the day.
This morning it is cool enough to
have the morning tea on the deck
and watch the sun rise.
Have a good one.

Mondays progress in painting

Monday was good.
I started a new lake painting.
This will be a fall scene.

I added the 5th layer to the roots painting.
I love these colors reminds me of fall.
Taking photos help me see where
I need to change the painting.
Today I will paint in the rocks.
Have a good day.
I will try and concentrate on painting
and stay away from the sewing machine.

This succulent basket was the Grand Champion and
Best of Show in Horticulture .
The winter scene art quilt received Reserved Champion.
The sunset photograph recieved Grand Champion.
Quite a nice bunch of ribbons.
When I was 10 years old in 4-H
I only got red, yellow and green.
Sort of fun to grow up and do better.
Off to the Studio to paint today.

Trees

Trees is the theme for Art Leagues October show.
I think I will start a series of art quilts of trees.
This past winter I took these tree photos.
Nature give us such a wealth of ideas.

I think this color way will make a good base.
Batik fabrics have such good colors for landscapes.
We have had 4.6 inches of rain in two days
we really needed the rain the grass was looking crispy.
I have come to the conclusion that I like winter
cold weather. This summer's heat is tough.
                          Have a blessed Sunday.
