Lazy Saturday morning

A rare Saturday morning treat French toast and
fresh squeezed orange juice.
Only 4 more Saturdays until Spring.
Still snowing though.
My two most important tools of my trade.
Glasses to see what I am doing and my
curved tip Havel scissors to clip those
threads and pieces of fabric.
That little scissors really helps neaten up my work.
Well have a great week-end.
I am off to the studio to stitch some more.

Looking for this fabric

I need more of this fabric.
I have been searching all the fabric sites to no avail
If you have some you would sell or know where I
could find some please let me know.
It makes the best rocks and I need some for
the reflections in the water.
I stitched one of the panels today.
It took all day to stitch down the rocks, tree trunks,
bushes and pine trees.
I have 3 more panels to go.
I think I may finish ahead of schedule.
Next week I will work on the leaves
for the  trees and  than  the reflections.

May FibR show

I decided to take a break form the big
quilt and work on some backgrounds
for 14 x 16 quilts for the FibR  group's
May show.
I think 3 of the 5 starts might work for the
show. I will add embellishments to all the
quilts  and lots of stitching.
The elephant one is quite dark that one may not
make the cut.
 Sunflower quilt may work
I like the 1st one and the last one the best.
Can you tell we have an international theme.
Tomorrow it is back to the big quilt.
We had 7 inches of snow today.
We are up to 50 inches for the winter so far.

The Sunshine effect

Until the sun came out yesterday I did not know
how much ice we had. It coated the pine trees and
it sparkled yesterday. Over 50 inches of snow
in our area so far for winter.
Today was grocery day and massage day.
I did get an hour in the studio.
Ironed on some more trees and stones.
I will start stitching, painting and cleaning up
Tomorrow. Lots to do.

Decisions

I added the rocks today and some more pines.
The big black tree keeps bothering me.
I am debating taking it out and putting some
more trees like the yellow leaf ones.
This tree is too strong and should be in a
quilt all by itself.
I will think about it overnight.
The view out my window today.
We will add another 4 to 7 inches of snow
by Wednesday morning.
Who knows maybe the window will be covered
by winters end.

Workiing hard makes a mess

When I am busy working on a project the studio
really gets deep fast. It is starting to bother me
but if I don't leave it all out I loose track of what
fabrics I am using. So I must tolerate the mess
until I am done with the 5 panels. I try to use
the same fabrics in all the panels. Just a touch
of  a fabric make a continuity.
I refined what I did on Friday and fused
the pieces so I have my pins back..
I think the next move  is to make the birds.
Than I can put some of the mess away and
concentrate on stitching.
