Time just gets away from me.

Last night I took my friend Doris to the Gala
A fund raiser for Chesterton Art Center.
She did not know she was going to be the guest of Honor.
A secret I kept for 3 months.
This month she turns 91.
When I picked her up she lifted her leg to the dash
to show me the sexy new shoes she had bought.
I thought I cannot lift my leg 6 inches and she puts hers
on the dash of the car.
She acts more like a 40 year old woman.
Needless to say she was pleased last night.
Spent another morning cooking lunch for the guys.
My husband has the flu and could not work on the house
today. The rest of the men enjoyed the hot ham and cheese
sandwiches. Now I must go to the studio to collect
my art for the Holiday show which we will install
Tuesday. Never a dull moment.

The last color for Fall

Nothing beats the Maples and Pear trees for long
staying color in the fall.
Yesterday my husband drove me to Lafayette to
collect my art from 2 galleries and to
turn in my submission for our bid
for a show in 2014 A touch of Nature.
All about birds.
I also stopped at the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette.
I was bad I came home with another ceramic
plate and a fish in clay.
I will hang them today and take a photo for you.
I have added a lolt to my collection this year.
I also bought a small nest mixed media piece
of J. Reitmeyer at her show in TAF.
I also bought a watercolor of Rebbeca Brody of
sand hill cranes. She is such a good artist.
Well I am off to the studio to sort the art
I picked up yesterday.
Next week is the PAC Holiday show and I
need to label and inventory everything.
Have a great day.

Missing in Action.

 Too much action .
The deadline is getting nearer for the 2014 shows.
Spent the last 3 days on prep.
SO its to be photographs, fiber art, clay and paintings.
Now to finish the CD of photos.
The application is printed and ready.
Thursday I will drop it off.
Than wait to see if we are successful in getting another show.
Friday is the Art Center's gala.
My job is to get the guest of honor there.
It is a surprise.
As I said  too too much action for one person.
These are some of my sculptures.

New art quilt

What a nice quiet Sunday.
Sometime the body just needs quiet to recharge.
I spent some time in the studio this afternoon
after a lazy dinner of scrambled eggs and toast.
I finished this scrappy 12 inch square art quilt.
Cleaned up a little in the studio
than an early shower
and into some comfy pajammas.
Now I will read for 3 or 4 hours until I fall asleep.
Keep safe all you on the east coast.
You are in my thoughts.
